Week of Nov 16
Monday: The Science Fair letter and experimental question are due. Students will do a quick activity observing how magnets interact. Students will view a short program about Rutherford's Gold foil experiment.
Homework: Read text pages 172-174. Do Study Guide B page 70.
Tues/Wed: Students will fill in page 88 in their Interactive Reader.
Students will view a powerpoint about the parts of an atom and take notes. Students will view the Bill Nye episode, "Atoms".
The experimental questions will be returned. If they are not specific, they will need to be corrected.
Homework: Correct the exp. question if needed. Read text pages 175-178 and do Study Guide B page 71. (Both Study Guide B pages will be corrected on Thurs/Fri.)
Thurs/Fri: The Science Fair "Mini Research Project" will be introduced. There will be some time to start on the research in the classroom. The workbook pages will be corrected.

Week of Nov 30
Monday: Review the notes about the atom. Do Interactive page 96 in class.
Homework: The "Mini Research Assignment" is due Monday, Dec 14. A handout explainging it was given out on Nov. 19/20.
Tues/Wed: Correct p. 96 in the Interactive Reader. Some notes about Isotopes will be given. Students will do the Quicklab on page 177, "Atomic Bead Models".
Homework: The worksheet, "Using The Periodic Table" will be assigned. It is due Thurs/Fri.
Thurs/Fri: The worksheet will be corrected. Students will have a chance to ask questions about their research assignment. I will show them the template for the Science Fair Procedure. We will begin ch 7 on "The Periodic Table".
Homework: Next week, you will have research/typing time in the LMC. Bring: a flashdrive, any research notes you have and change for copies.
