The students were given a letter introducing the Science Fair project on Nov 5/6. The letter is due to be signed by a parent and returned to class by Nov 16.
Their experimental question and hypothesis were also due on Nov 16. Many students need to correct their question and return it to me by Thurs/Fri, Nov 19/20.
On Nov 19/20, I will introduce the Science Fair "Mini Research Project". It will be due on Monday, Dec14. I wanted to assign it before Thanksgiving break so they can use their week off to start gathering information. They will have class time in the school's library the week of Dec 8.
During that time, they will also need to type up their Science Fair Procedure. Procedures will be due on Dec 17/18 unless they plan to start their experiment during winter break. If so, they need to be turned in no later than Dec 15/16 so that I can assess them and return them by the 18.
The experimental data will be checked on Jan 25. Unless a student is doing a very long experiment, they will not need to start during the break. If they are doing something that requires more than 2 weeks, then they will need to start early. Any students growing plants from seeds must start early! I will not give any extensions if they have procrastinated.
